Juracek re-elected chair of O'Hare Noise Compatability Commission

Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene A. Juracek was re-elected Friday to a second term as chairwoman of the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission. Speaking to the group, Juracek acknowledged a new working partnership with the Suburban O'Hare Commission and recognized the efforts of community-based organizations like Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition to mitigate noise. "We had to build a fabric of trust, listen to every idea, and work for the common good and sometimes even compromise," she said. Attorney Joseph Annunzio of Park Ridge was re-elected vice chairman; Raymond Kuper, retired Harwood Heights school superintendent, was elected ONCC treasurer. ONCC, an intergovernmental agency representing more than 2.1 million residents in 52 municipalities, school districts and Cook and DuPage counties, is dedicated to mitigating aircraft noise from O'Hare International Airport.
