COD needs fresh voices, not retreads

When is the editorial board of the Daily Herald going to realize that endorsing professional politicians because of their experience is a foolish exercise at best?

Sandy Pihos spent 12 years in the Illinois House, and during her tenure the legislature drove Illinois to financial ruin and the lowest financial rating of any state.

Please stop endorsing "experienced" candidates for offices. If anything, the fact that someone is an "experienced" politician should count against them for any office. Instead, consider any other candidate for the COD board who has little or no experience in elected office. There are a lot of talented individuals who can lend a fresh voice to our political offices, fresh voices that aren't from political hacks and retreads.
