Man killed when vehicle drives off overpass on Elgin-O'Hare Expressway

An Elgin man was killed early Saturday when the pickup truck he was driving went off an Elgin-O'Hare Expressway overpass in Schaumburg and crashed onto Wright Boulevard, Illinois State Police said.

Martin Magallanes, 40, was the only occupant of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicates Magallanes was westbound about 12:44 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway and fell down onto Wright Boulevard, crashing into a concrete wall, police said in a news release.

Wright Boulevard under the expressway was closed for about four hours while police investigated.
