Get the government you richly deserve

I get worked up as much as the next guy reading the daily headlines. When you look at these issues and get down to the cause it is that the people elected or appointed to head up and lead have failed us. What's worse is that we have let them do it.

We have such low expectations of government that we make jokes about their incompetence, arrogance, embezzlement, corruption and terrible service. Two of the last three sitting governors in jail convicted of various offenses. CPS Chiefs and executives going to jail. State of Illinois unfunded pension liability is over $111 billion. State of Illinois and the federal government can't pass a budget even with record amounts of taxes "collected." Record number of people on entitilements like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, foodstamps, etc.

What is evident to me is that the Amercian people have stood by and let elected and appointed officials run the business into the ground. When the Mr. Madigan says they need to tax more before they spend less and become responsible stewards to the people, then you get the government you deserve. When you allow your elected officals to hijack the health care system only to see costs rise faster than before, you get the government you deserve. When government and big business are allowed to manipulate laws and the economy so they gain but you lose, you get the government you deserve.

Bottom line is that we have for far too long allowed governmental agencies at all levels, special interests groups and even foreign interests to run amock and un-checked. Until the people become responsible and stop re-electing the Michael Madigans (Democrat and Republican) types of the world, stop allowing foreign interests to rule over your interests, stop allowing for failed to mediocre services and representation ... well then we all get the government and country we deserve.

It is time to restore the Republic and let this failed chapter in the book of America become history.
