Life saved by gun not Page 1 news

In the Daily Herald Nov. 3 on Page 8 is a small article about a attempted robbery at a store on Chicago's southwest side.

The robber, a masked man entered the store displaying a handgun and announced he was robbing the store. Also in the store was a man with a concealed carry license who fatally shot the robber after the robber pointed his weapon at an employee and forced her to the back of the store. No western style shoot out, just one very happy girl who was probably very glad that the good guy had a gun.

Question? Why was this on Page 8 in small print instead of on the front page where it would have been had the robber shot several people. Then Rahm Emanuel would have been demanding more gun control. But in this case as in many, a gun may have saved a life. But who cares, a life saved by a gun is not news and not worthy of being on the front page.
