Glenbard East leaders of tomorrow

I wanted to share with you how very appreciative the Healthy Lombard Foundation is that five members of the Glenbard East Key Club volunteered to assist with our fourth and final Flat Apple Summer 2015 event.

The students who donated their personal time Sept. 19 were awesome. I know there were many other activities that high schoolers could have been enjoying that day but I am thankful they chose our event because their help was critical to making it a success.

The volunteers enthusiastically helped set-up the tent and registration table, entered participants' data on-line, timed and charted our participants' obstacle race times, handed out stickers and raffle tickets, organized the prize distribution, and helped pack up after the event. They interacted positively with all the adults and children and made the event a fun experience for everyone.

I am so proud that I had this opportunity to work side-by-side with these young leaders of tomorrow. Their commitment to the values set forth by Glenbard East High School and the Key Club demonstrates that our future is in great and competent hands.
