Barrington masseur pleads guilty to sexually abusing client

A Barrington masseur was sentenced to two years of probation Monday after pleading guilty to allegations he sexually abused a client.

Michael S. Greenfield, 55, of Lake in the Hills pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual abuse for an offense that occurred during a massage on Jan. 15, Barrington police said.

Greenfield is the owner of Sole2Soul Bodywork at 1250 S. Grove Ave. in Barrington, police said.

The 54-year-old female victim came forward after learning that Greenfield was facing a similar felony charge of sexual assault involving a female client during a March 3 appointment. However, as part of a negotiated plea, that other charge was dismissed Monday, officials said.

In addition to the sentence of probation, Greenfield must register as a sex offender for the next 10 years, attend sex offender counseling and provide his DNA to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
