Algonquin man accused of sex toy attack at haunted house gets probation, fine
A 24-year-old man accused of dressing as a clown and using sex toys to harass and attack a woman and her daughter at a Montgomery-area haunted house recently received a year of supervision and a $500 fine after pleading guilty.
Robert S. Keller, of the 0-99 block of Madison Street, Algonquin, also must perform 30 hours of community service at a nonprofit agency and have no contact with the victims, according to Kane County court records.
Judge D.J. Tegeler accepted the guilty plea last week for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, in which prosecutors also dismissed a misdemeanor charge of battery.
Keller was scheduled to appear in Kane County court Wednesday for a hearing before a Sept. 1 jury trial, which has been canceled.
Keller was arrested Oct. 11, 2014, at the Massacre Haunted House.
According to a lawsuit filed against Keller and the haunted house, Keller and another, unidentified, man were in the parking lot dressed as clowns when they began harassing a woman who drove her high school-aged daughter and her friends to the haunted house.
Keller and the other man made lewd remarks and gestures toward the females while holding sex toys, according to lawsuit. A teenage girl also was prodded with a sex toy before the group left.
A lawsuit filed by Regina Janito of Montgomery against Keller and the Massacre Haunted House is next up in court Sept. 17.
The attorney representing the haunted house has said the incident between Keller and the woman never happened.
