The Joshua Stuart Krinsky Annual Memorial Golf Outing Raises Nearly $19,000 for the Perinatal Family Support Center at NorthShore University HealthSystem

Over 100 golfers, friends and supporters took the links on July 20th for the annual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing. Guests enjoyed a day on the course and lunch followed by a cocktail reception, exciting silent auction filled with sports memorabilia and dinner at Bryn Mawr Country Club. Founded by Harold Krinsky, DDS, the event aims to raise funds and awareness for the Perinatal Family Support Center at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), which provides a wide array of services-free of charge-to women and their families experiencing challenges related to pregnancy, birth, prematurity or perinatal loss. This year's event raised nearly $19,000 to support the Center's vital services.

Thirty-one years ago, Joshua Krinsky was born prematurely and taken immediately to the Infant Special Care Unit (ISCU) at NorthShore Evanston Hospital, where he spent the next seven months of his life. Despite the tireless efforts of the dedicated and skilled neonatal doctors and nurses, Joshua could not overcome his serious health issues and passed away.

To demonstrate their gratitude for the excellent care they received while at NorthShore, Dr. Krinsky's family established the Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Fund to provide philanthropic funding for the Perinatal Family Support Center. In 2000, they launched the Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing to further their support to this cause. Since its inception, they have raised over $155,000 for the Perinatal Family Support Center.

"Each day our staff works with women and their families navigating the unfamiliar emotional terrain associated with a crisis related to pregnancy, birth, prematurity or perinatal loss, providing emotional support, counseling and linkage to community resources," said Janet Winslow, Coordinator of the Perinatal Family Support Center. "It is our privilege and passion to help families during critical times of need and we are grateful for the Krinsky family's continued support."
