Walk/run in Gurnee to benefit abuse victims
The Lake County Children's Advocacy Center is hosting its Color the Park 5k run/walk on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Hunt Club Park, 900 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the run/walk at 9 a.m. Participants will follow a 5k course while blasts of colored powder are launched in their direction. Registration is $20 per person, $15 per person for groups of six or more. Proceeds from the race will benefit The Lake County Children's Advocacy Center, a division of the Lake County State's Attorney's Office which investigates and provides services to child victims of abuse.
