Carol Stream man identified as murder-suicide assailant
Police have identified the man who killed an Aurora woman in a murder-suicide Thursday at an Arlington Heights Motel 6.
According to authorities, Louis Antonio Nonato-Valesquez of Carol Stream killed himself after murdering 41-year-old Cecilia Perez of Aurora. Police said the two were dating.
Nonato-Valesquez was 31 or 32. Police delayed revealing his identity until his next of kin could be notified through the Mexican Consulate in the Mexican state of Michoacan.
Motel staff members found a large amount of blood on the floor of a room at the motel, 441 W. Algonquin Road, shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday. They called police, who entered the room and found the bodies and a knife that was used to commit the murder and suicide.
An autopsy performed by the Cook County medical examiner's office determined both Nonato-Valesquez and Perez died from "multiple sharp force injuries." A motive is still unknown.
Police are expected to provide more updates on the case Sunday or Monday morning.
