The Holmstad Summer Concert Series continues July 15

The U.S. Navy Band Great Lakes Ceremonial Band will take the stage for The Holmstad's Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15. The Holmstad, a faith-based, nonprofit, continuing care retirement community operated by Covenant Retirement Communities, is located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

The Ceremonial Band ensemble of 25 musicians will perform well-known marches and patriotic music. The performance is free and open to the public.

"Pride in Service" has been the theme for the Navy Band Great Lakes for more than a century. From 1911, when the band first formed, to 1917, when Lt. Commander John Philip Sousa served as bandmaster, to today's director Lt. Patrick K. Sweeten, the music represents the pride and professionalism that is synonymous with the U.S. Navy.
