No signs of trauma in crash near McHenry

A Wauconda man who died after a rollover crash on a bridge over the Fox River near McHenry did not die from traumatic injuries, the coroner's office said Monday.

The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Route 176 bridge just east of Nish Road, officials said. Scott M. Madda, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding fire and rescue workers, according to a statement from McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.

An autopsy conducted Monday "revealed no evidence of traumatic injury." Instead, Madda's cause of death will be pending toxicology, officials said.

The bridge and nearby roads were shut down for several hours Saturday. The crash remains under investigation.
