Storm could bring 4 inches of rain in isolated spots

A flash flood watch remains in effect in the suburbs through Friday morning, the National Weather Service says.

Waves of showers and thunderstorms will affect the area into Friday morning. Some of the thunderstorms will produce very heavy rain, with up to 2 to 3 inches in isolated locations in a short period of time, the weather service says.

Localized maximum rainfall totals by midmorning Friday could potentially exceed 4 inches in some isolated locations.

ABC 7 Chicago reported a forecast with Naperville getting about 3 inches of rain, Crystal Lake getting 2.44 inches of rain, Waukegan 1.53 inches of rain, but O'Hare less than an inch.
