Manufacturing company Oelheld to move into W. Dundee's Oakview Corporate Park
Oelheld, a Germany-based company that produces machine oils, fluids and lubricants, will soon be the newest occupant at Oakview Corporate Park in West Dundee.
The company purchased property from The Opus Group, a Minneapolis-based development company, and intends to build a 28,000-square-foot building to be used for production, storage and office space, said West Dundee Village Manager Joe Cavallaro.
Oelheld originally planned to begin construction late this year, said Carina Eitel, administrative assistant at Oelheld U.S. But company executives are still researching construction costs, which may push the start date back to 2016.
Oelheld expects to move into the facility on Wesemann Drive sometime next year, she said.
The company's current U.S. facility, on Britannia Drive in Elgin, has grown quickly in recent years, said Executive Vice President Stephan Hecht, and that's a reason for the expansion.
"This new property was not only chosen because of its close proximity to our current facility but also because of its beautiful scenery," he said. "Oelheld is looking forward to expanding its manufacturing capabilities."
Cavallaro said new manufacturing company moving in to one of Oakview's remaining lots is in tandem with the village's redevelopment plans.
"It's a continuation of strong build out of a light industrial area for West Dundee," he said. "That area really gives us some really good diversification with this property."
He said he expects Oelheld to approach the village about a building permit soon.
