Palatine driver charged after Inverness hit-and-run

Inverness police have charged a Palatine woman with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and improper lane use after a hit-and-run collision Monday afternoon at the intersection of Dundee and Ela roads.

Michelle Langer, 39, was given a court date of June 19 on the charges. She said she did not realize her vehicle had crossed over the centerline and struck a vehicle heading east in a construction zone at about 2:23 p.m., Inverness Police Chief Bob Haas said.

Barrington police subsequently stopped Langer's vehicle and took her into custody, he added.

There were no injuries reported in the accident.
