New restaurant, Woods Creek Tavern, to open in Lake in the Hills

A new restaurant and pub is coming to the Randall Road corridor this summer.

Woods Creek Tavern is expected to open in early July in Lake in the Hills, on the east side of Randall where the former Applebee's restaurant used to be.

The establishment is named after the village of Lake in the Hills' largest lake, said the business' managing partner, David Abraham.

"We are looking forward to being a part of Lake in the Hills and the Randall Road corridor," Abraham said.

He said the business will have great food and craft beer with "outstanding service in a cool atmosphere."

"We will have over 30 different local and regional craft beers on draft and our food menu will pay tribute to American cooking with most items made from scratch," Abraham said.

The business will be 5,000 square feet - the same size as Applebee's, said Dan Olson, Lake in the Hills' director of community development. There will be no change in the building's footprint, he said.

Olson added that the new business will be good for the community because it will be a high quality operation that will occupy a former restaurant building that is now vacant.

"It's a very positive addition to the Randall Road corridor," he said. "It will bring in more sales tax than the previous restaurant."
