Two face drug charges after McHenry traffic stop yields heroin

Two men face multiple drug charges after raw heroin was found in a secret compartment of the vehicle they were driving in McHenry, officials said.

The vehicle was stopped Monday near the intersection of Elm Street and Riverside Drive and was searched by McHenry County sheriff's deputies, according to a county new release. Deputies recovered 25 grams of heroin, valued at $5,000, hidden in a concealed compartment, the release said.

Dustin B. Dodge, 34, of Island Lake, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and driving while license suspended.

Dale M. Hoagland, 32, of McHenry, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Both men are expected in bond court Thursday morning.
