Police release photo of vehicle used in shooting

Evanston police have released photos of the vehicle used in a shooting this weekend that injured two men.

A Round Lake Beach man and a Waukegan man were shot early Saturday morning while driving through Evanston on their way home from a Chicago nightclub, police said. Just before 4 a.m., the two victims and two other friends were traveling west on Howard Street near Dodge Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongside them and someone fired several shots into the vehicle.

A 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man was struck in the arm and the back and was in good condition. A 23-year-old Waukegan man was struck in the head and groin area and was in serious but stable condition. Neither had life-threatening injuries.

Police say the occupants of another vehicle at the location of the shooting would have witnessed the crime, and they encourage people to come forward. The shooter's vehicle is described as a silver or gray newer model Lincoln SUV.

Police are asking anyone with information to call (847) 866-5040. Anonymous information can be sent through TEXT-A-TIP by texting to CRIMES (274637) and then EPD TIP with the information.
