March 28 Men's Breakfast Open to the Community, Keynote Speaker: Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, in Palatine, will host a Men's Breakfast on Saturday, March 28, from 9-11 a.m., where Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz will speak not only about his journey from Palatine to the NFL and back again, but also about community itself. The theme of the breakfast is "Faith Into the Community."

Reverend Warren Schilf, associate pastor at Immanuel, says "Our goal for the breakfast is to gather the men of our community and discuss how we can be 'good neighbors' to those in need who live among us. Whether we are acting as a church, a charitable organization, or simply as individuals, we all have the ability to extend ourselves to help our neighbors who have need. Many of us are very blessed with many resources that can be utilized to provide a helping hand. Through the encouragement of Mayor Jim Schwantz, we hope to learn of areas in Palatine where needs are unmet, so that collectively we can make an impact in our community."

A light breakfast will be served and the event is free and open to the public. Breakfast attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, which distributes the food locally to those in need.
