Believe Project: $100 to buy Easter baskets for kids who come from abusive homes

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Debbie Rowells of Elk Grove Village.

Here is an excerpt of her suggestion:

"If I had a $100 I would contribute it to my church's WINGS Easter basket collection. WINGS (Women In Need Growing Stronger) is an organization dedicated to providing support to women and their children who have left abusive environments and need a hand up to begin a new and better life. Each year First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights raises funds in the spring for Easter baskets and then in the fall for sneakers to start the new school year. This year we need to collect 136 baskets for children from infants to 17 years old. Each basket costs around $10 to $15, which with $100 could give around eight or 10 WINGS children a bit of sweetness this Easter. Just a simple gift of candy can bring more normalcy to these children."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
