Barrington masseuse charged with sex assault of client

The owner of a Barrington massage therapy studio faces up to 15 years in prison after his arrest last week on a charge of criminal sexual assault.

Michael S. Greenfield, 55, of Lake in the Hills, appeared before a Cook County judge Friday on the felony charge, which stems from allegations involving a female client at his Sole2Soul Bodywork studio during a March 3 appointment, according to Barrington police.

Greenfield's bail was set at $125,000.

Barrington Police Chief David Dorn said police have not received reports of similar allegations involving the studio, which Greenfield has operated since April 2011. But police are asking anyone that may have knowledge of similar activities to call (847) 304-3300.

Greenfield attorney Michael O'Meara declined comment on behalf of his client Monday.
