GLMV Chamber presents business awards

The Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce recently named recipients of its coveted 2014 Business Awards.

GLMV Executive Director Ray Mullen and GLMV Chairman of the Board Marty Rafter presented the awards at the GLMV dinner Jan. 23 at Independence Grove in Libertyville.

Award recipients are:

• Member of the Year: Diane Phillips, Community High School District 128, for providing unparalleled support of the GLMV by contributing time and talents to grow the chamber.

• Entrepreneur of the Year: Teri Dreher, North Shore Patient Advocates, for demonstrating the ability to successfully grow a business and be a leader in programs to enhance the community, including successful patient advocacy efforts.

• Civic Leadership Award: Maureen Riedy, Visit Lake County, for outstanding contributions to promote tourism in the community and support local businesses.

• Community Service Award: Dr. Louis Manquen, MD, Advocate Condell Medical Center, for championing women's health with a particular advocacy in the importance of lifesaving mammography, including developing a strong partnership with the YWCA in providing mammograms for disadvantaged women.

• Commerce Award: Roch Tranel, The Tranel Financial Group, for putting forth extra effort on behalf of the local business community, including hosting the Freedom One Network Group.

• Distinguished Service Award: James Butler, JHB Technology Consulting, for service as 2014 Chairman of the Board.

• Outgoing Directors Award: Don Peterson, Marketing And Sales Services; Donna Bikus, DLR Insurance.
