Rolling Meadows Park District's Executive Director named IPRA's Professional of the Year

Executive Director, Amy Charlesworth, wins prestigious award at annual professional IAPD/IPRA Conference.

Rolling Meadows, IL- February, 2, 2015. The Rolling Meadows Park District is proud to announce that Amy Charlesworth, Executive Director, won the IPRA's Professional of the Year Award. Amy was presented this award at the IPRA/IPAD premier state conference for parks and recreation.

This award is given to those professionals in the field who have made an impact in the community to which they serve. Amy has been director of the Park District since 2002 and has been with the District since the early 1980's.

Since taking over as Executive Director, Amy has been instrumental in providing financial stability to the district. Under Amy's leadership, the district has received sixteen grants, totaling over $4.5 million dollars.

"Amy is an inspirational leader…she encourages our staff to face challenges with a confident discipline while also striving to learn," says Superintendent, Nick Troy, "her positive attitude is contagious, we are lucky to have her."

Throughout her career, Amy has been extremely active in leadership positions. She has been chairperson of the IPRA board of directors and has led her agency to receiving the IPRA/IAPD Distinguished Parks & Recreation Accreditation.

The entire Park District staff is proud of Amy and her accomplishments and we are happy to see her recognized for it.
