Hampshire-Henpeck HCE to meet Feb. 17

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home Community and Education will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Heartland Bank, 819 Warner St. in Hampshire.

The roll call question this month will be, do you have family reunions and what is the best part of it? Refreshments will be provided by Marlene Riker and Charlene Riker.

Fun Day this year will be on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Advent Christian Church in Aurora. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. Performing artist George Vogrin will present a Musical Chalk multimedia presentation. Registration deadline is Feb. 19 and cost is $15. Items for the silent auction are still needed.

Mark your calendar for the March 17 meeting. Guest speakers will be Cheryl Aschenbrenner, Elderly Services Officer of the Elgin Police Department, and Lt. Kevin Williams of the Kane County Sheriff's Office. One of the topics will be on "The Anatomy of a Scam" and why it happens so often to seniors. This is a free program open to the community. More information will be forthcoming.
