North Dakota beat Nebraska-Omaha 4-3
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Brendan O'Donnell scored midway through overtime as North Dakota beat Nebraska-Omaha 4-3 on Saturday for a split of a National Collegiate Hockey Conference series.
O'Donnell snapped a shot from the right circle past Nebraska-Omaha goalie Ryan Massa at 2:04 of overtime as top-ranked North Dakota avenged Friday's 3-2 overtime loss.
The win by North Dakota (19-6-2, 10-5-1-0) extended several streaks. Nebraska-Omaha is 19-0-1 when O'Donnell scores a goal. It is 13-0-1 in Saturday games and 16-0-1 when leading after two periods.
Mark MacMillan scored two goals in the first period and North Dakota took a 2-1 lead into the third period.
North Dakota goalie Zane McIntyre made 31 saves, including a point-blank stop of Justin Parizek's breakaway at time ran out in regulation.
Stephane Pattyn also scored for North Dakota, while Jake Guentzel had two goals and Brian Cooper the game-tying goal in the third for UNO (16-7-3, 10-5-1-1).
Ryan Massa made 38 saves for Nebraska-Omaha.
