High schools host dances for dads and daughters

All area girls ages 3-12, or preschool through fifth grade, and their fathers are invited to attend the 16th annual Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, Feb. 7, at Prospect High School.

This event is an occasion for dads or father figures and their daughters to dress up and enjoy an evening of each other's undivided attention. A DJ will provide music from the 1950s through today. There also will be a dessert table, souvenirs and photo booths.

This event will be at the school's field house from 7 to 9 p.m. at 801 W. Kensington Road, in Mount Prospect. It will benefit Prospect's Choir Department.

Entry fee is $25 in advance for each adult or $30 at the door. Attendees can call co-chairwoman Karen Gadow at (847) 727-2808 with questions or visit prospectchoir.com to download the reservation form online and mail in by Jan. 27.

That same day, Buffalo Grove High School will hold its third annual Daddy Daughter Dance, sponsored by the Class of 2016, for local 4-year-olds through sixth-grade girls and their fathers.

The semiformal evening, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., will feature music and dancing, as well as games, crafts, a photo booth, refreshments and more in Buffalo Grove High School's gymnasium, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove.

The cost is $30 for each family. Proceeds will help fund activities and events for the junior class.

Checks should be made payable to: Buffalo Grove High School and mailed to the attention of the 2016 Class Board/Daddy Daughter Dance, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. "Daddy-Daughter Dance" should be noted in the memo section of the check.

Include the father and daughter(s) names and home phone number with the payment, as well as an email address.
