Barrington 220 to host Chinese New Year performance
To celebrate the start of Chinese New Year, the Barrington Area Unit School District 220 will host a traditional Chinese dance performance featuring the professional dance company Yellow River Dancers, as well as some district students.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 29, at the Barrington High School auditorium, 616 W. Main St., Barrington.
District 220's Bridge to Chinese program and the Barrington Chinese Immersion Council organized the event. This year, Chinese New Year falls on Feb. 19 and it will be the year of the goat.
The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
