An Elgin boy died last night after being hit by a car just after 6 p.m. near Route 20 and McLean Boulevard, police said. The boy was apparently on his way home when the crash happened. The driver was not ticketed. Full story.

Drivers: Expect delays in Itasca while Metra makes repairs

Drivers can expect delays in Itasca through Friday as Metra continues to make repairs to the intersection where a car was struck by a train earlier this week. Aurora man found guilty of sexually abusing child

A Kane County jury convicted an Aurora man of molesting a child under 13 in his home, officials said. Jose A. Rivas Lechuga, 38, of the 700 block of Columbia Street, was convicted of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Full story.

Aurora man gets 10 years for knife attack

An Aurora man who was found guilty of breaking into a house and then attacking his neighbor was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Mark A. Charipar, 27, of the 700 block of Sexton Street, pleaded guilty in November to home invasion, a felony. Full story.

Bulls lose again, despite good game by Rose
