Addison man charged with cannabis possession

A 25-year-old Addison man was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, officials said Wednesday.

Michael P. Hertz was arrested by Bartlett police Monday after they stopped a vehicle for a registration violation, according to a news release.

Police investigated the vehicle after they said they smelled the odor of cannabis coming from it.

A felony amount of cannabis as well as therapeutic cannabis candy was discovered in the vehicle, police said.

A preliminary court date for Hertz has been set for Jan. 12. His charge is a class 4 felony.
