Playhouse 38 hosts auditions for "Steel Magnolias"

The Geneva Park District is holding auditions for its adult production of "Steel Magnolias" at Playhouse 38.

Adults, age 18 or older, are invited to audition by appointment, Wednesday, Dec. 3 and Monday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Written by Robert Harling, this classic story of friendship and trust presents the story of six different southern women who reveal their endless support for one another.

Under the direction of Lisa Pivaronas, these hilarious characters come to live in Truvey's local beauty shop as they share their ups and downs and strong personalities.

Those who wish to audition must prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. Auditionees may be asked to read from the script. Call (630) 232-4542 to schedule your audition now.

Once cast, a $20 script fee and completed registration form is required. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning the week of Jan. 5. A full rehearsal schedule will be determined and distributed based on cast availability.

Performances are scheduled for Feb. 13-15. Tickets for $15 will be available for purchase at Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave.
