Elite Soccer Thinks Pink this October

The sea of pink running around on local soccer fields this month are likely players from Elite Soccer. Players are wearing pink jerseys in honor of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Coordinated by Elite's non-profit arm, the Elite Soccer Community Organization (ESCO), players and families purchased over 500 pink jerseys with net proceeds benefitting Northwest Community Healthcare Breast Center's Gift-A-Mammogram Program. In addition, players are also wearing pink shoe laces this month.

Elite Soccer is inviting everyone to attend a "Pink Out" game to cheer on their U18 Girls Premier Black team when they play Hawthorn Woods on Sunday, October 26th, at 5:45 PM at Rolling Meadows High School. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink! There will be several fundraising initiatives that evening to further benefit NCH's Gift-A-Mammogram Program, including a 50/50 raffle, and Dunkin' Donuts goodies, thanks to Dunkin' Donuts Arlington Park, 1818 W Northwest Hwy. The game will also feature giveaways and tattoos!

"Many of our players' families have been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. This is something simple we can do as an organization to raise awareness and additional funds to help the cause. I'm just grateful that we established ESCO to able to organize our community outreach efforts in a more systematic way," said Mike Steele, President of Elite Soccer and of ESCO's Board of Directors.
