United Relief Foundation presents Spirit of Giving awards

On Monday, Sept. 1, United Relief Foundation's founder and president Frank Salato presented Brian Urbanowski, president of URB Chicago, and Laine Lucke, owner of Lucke's Cantina in Wisconsin, each with an Illinois and Wisconsin Spirit of Giving Award in recognition for their generosity to provide veterans in need with hope and help.

"The United Relief Foundation values all our volunteers and donors, and when contributors were asked, they agreed the recent Illinois and Wisconsin recipients deserved special recognition for their extraordinary generosity to the United Relief Foundation's efforts in providing our heroes in need with hope and help," Salato said.

"Mr. Urbanowski and Mr. Lucke's generosity are examples never to underestimate the incredible power of a single act of kindness."

Urbanowski's professional expertise and involvement has been indispensable to United Relief Foundation's Home Sweet Home initiative, providing homeownership, training and employment opportunities for Illinois veterans.

Lucke has designated the first Monday of every month Military Mondays, on which a portion of Lucke's Cantina's proceeds are donated to the United Relief Foundation's Single Act of Kindness campaign efforts to help Wisconsin veterans in need.
