Artist Reception for Lorraine Caposieno @ Prospect Heights Public Library

Join us for an Artist Reception in honor of our August Lobby Artist Lobby, Lorraine Caposieno.

About the Artist: Lorraine Caposieno studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois, and more recently with Dominic Vignola of Oak Park, and Thia Malenchik of Palatine, Illinois. She is a member and Program Director of the Elk Grove Village Art League. Recent winner of several awards by the Elk Grove Village Juried Art Shows and various exhibits. She put her art aside for many years while she raised her daughters and worked outside her home. Later as a "reluctant retiree" she went back to painting and finds it rewarding in so many ways, as well as being "therapeutic".

Lorraine and her husband have traveled through Italy extensively so many of her paintings are of the Tuscan countryside, and various cities come from photos taken during those trips. Coming home to create paintings of her photos allows her to relive those parts of the trips that were so meaningful. Lorraine's artwork will be on display in the lobby of the Library starting Tuesday, August 12 through Tuesday, September 2. You can view more of her art on her website at http://www.artbylorraine.com.

Come meet the artist at a reception in her honor on Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 pm, light refreshments will be served. The library is located at 12 North Elm Street in Prospect Heights.
