On Friday, May 2, young dancers from the Lindenhurst, Antioch and Lake Villa communities will tryout for the LCHS Dance Team, a program that hopes to return to the State stage for another go at the State Title.

In her 4th year at Lakes Community High School, Dance Coach Tiffany Chilcote finds herself looking for new talent, talent that not only will help return her team as State Title contenders this year, but will build the foundation for the next few years. After this year eight seniors will graduate from Lakes, most of whom have danced for Coach Chilcote since they were freshman. After starting out as TDI State Kick Champions their freshman year to placing 4th in the IHSA State Dance Championship as juniors last year (missing hardware by only .34 of a point), this class of seniors are hungry to be back on that podium. Led by Captains Sarah Laslow, Megan Wayne and Ashley Cook, and Co-Captain Livy Muzones, this team is ready for a rigorous practice schedule and is determined to do anything necessary to get to the top.
