Elburn library launches history series

In memory of Almer Gliddon, a lifelong Elburn resident, the Town and Country Public Library in Elburn has created the Gliddon Family & Local History Series.

This program will offer two lectures a year: one in May for Local History Month and the other in October for Family History Month.

The first program will be by Jerome Johnson, executive director of the Garfield Farm and Museum in Campton Hills. He will discuss the settlement of the Elburn area from the 1800s. The program will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

Reservations are required for this free program and limited to 25 participants. Call the library at (630) 365-2244 for reservations. The library is at 320 E. North St., Elburn.
