Glen Ellyn- Wheaton Community Associates Celebrate 50 Years

The Glen Ellyn- Wheaton Community Associates was formed in 1964 with 203 members. Today the membership ranges between 300 to 325 and many members live in communities surrounding Glen Ellyn and Wheaton. Geoffrey Baer, Emmy award winning writer, producer and program host seen on WTTW Chicago, is the special speaker who will present the program at the Wednesday, May 14, luncheon at the Carlisle, located at 435 East Butterfield Rd. in Lombard. Baer's program features highlights found in the western suburbs with special emphasis on the communities that make up the membership of the Community Associates. This organization is under the auspices of the Art Institute of Chicago. Members are able to participate in art history lectures, art education and special trips to art museums in and around Illinois as well as many parts of the United States. Membership dues are paid in August, a year-book provides coupons members submit during planned reservation times. Four times a year luncheons are planned that include guests and interested non members.
