Orchestra Finishes 20th Season with Gershwin Classics

The Park Ridge Civic Orchestra's 20th Anniversary Season culminates in a concert of classics on April 30th when Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and American in Paris are featured with Ravel's Piano Concerto and the ever-popular Bolero.

Guest solo pianist Leah Dominy plays the virtuoso piano concerto and Rhapsody on a spectacular 10-foot 2-inch Fazioli grand piano. Miss Dominy is making her debut appearance at the PRCO, having collaborated with Music Director Victor Muenzer in past programs in her native Canada.

The concert opens with Gershwin's familiar American in Paris followed by Ravel's Piano Concerto. A special tribute to Park Ridge's own Dick and Dorothy DuSold will be held in honor of their 16 years of volunteer service to the orchestra, and 3 high school seniors will be recognized with scholarships awarded by the Park Ridge Civic Orchestra.

The concert ends with Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue and Ravel's Bolero, selected as audience favorites from the orchestra's two decades of performances.

The orchestra's 21st Season repertoire will be announced at the concert, and a complimentary wine reception for all audience patrons follows the event.
