Grand Opening: The Orchard has a New Campus in Marengo

The Orchard Evangelical Free Church is one congregation worshipping in four communities (Arlington Heights, Barrington, Itasca and now, Marengo) and serving across the greater Chicagoland area; each of which stays true to the Gospel-centered mission while also tailoring their ministries to their unique congregations.

In May 2013, both Covenant Baptist's and The Orchard's membership voted to affirm the decision for Covenant Baptist Church to become The Orchard - Marengo. Although this decision was made less than a year ago, the connection between the two churches started many years before that.

In 2011, Covenant Baptist Church chairman Phil Shirley contacted The Orchard's senior pastor, Colin Smith, asking if The Orchard would be able to provide a steady flow of preachers to fill Covenant Baptist's pulpit. The Orchard continued to do this and in September 2013, the Marengo campus gladly welcomed Jared Hendricks, a small town native, to be the full-time campus pastor.

Pastor Jared said, "I'm excited to see how God is going to use this church for his glory in this community; changing lives and saving souls by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want you to know that everyone is welcome and you do not need to have it all together to come."

The Marengo Campus has active small groups (LIFE Groups), children's and student ministries. The congregation has grown tremendously (tripling in size) during the last ten months.

"This is a place full of life and energy. You can expect to see God's Word read, sung, prayed and preached here," said Pastor Jared Hendricks.

Join them for worship at 9:30 a.m. and for an education hour for adults, students and children at 11 a.m. at the church, 20911 Ratfield Road in Marengo. For details, visit theorchardefc.org/marengo or call (815) 568-6076.
