Ride for ovarian cancer research

Chicago's first Ovarian Cancer Ride to Change the Future is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Midtown Athletic Club, 2211 Waukegan Road, Bannockburn. Entry fees are $50 per rider, with each participant required to raise an additional minimum donation of $600 before the event. If a bike is shared (participants ride for one hour on a shared bike with two teammates), the minimum donation is $300 per person. The entrance fee is waived for ovarian cancer survivors. All proceeds support Ovarian Cancer Research Fund's mission to fund scientific research that leads to more effective identification, treatment and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. The effort originally was launched in Atlanta in 2004. For information or to register, call Midtown at (847) 945-1818 or visit ocrf.org/news/ovarian-cycle.
