Horse rescue group to host 'The Mane Event'

Field of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption will hold its fundraiser, "The Mane Event" on Saturday, March 22, at St. Andrew's Golf & Country Club in West Chicago.

The seventh annual dinner and auction will support Field of Dreams' horse facilities in St. Charles and Batavia.

Tickets are $75 a piece or $560 for a table of eight. The doors open at 5 p.m. to a silent auction, followed by a four-course meal and live auction.

Field of Dreams is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe haven for abused, neglected, and unwanted horses as well as horses coming from loving homes whose owners can no longer care for them due to financial difficulties.

Many of the horses need special care due to previous neglect, injuries, or simply old age.

Proceeds from "The Mane Event" enable Field of Dreams Horse Rescue and Adoption to continue to enhance the quality of life and provide the best in compassionate care to horses who truly need it.
