It will be preceded by a visitation that will run from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Shogren died early Wednesday after she was hit outside Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington. She had been a nurse there since 1987.

After growing up in Lockport, Shogren earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University. She worked at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park before moving to Good Shepherd.

Shogren enjoyed camping and several sports, including golf, volleyball and bowling. She also was an avid reader who enjoyed solving puzzles.

Neighbor Frank Leber recalled seeing Shogren working in her yard with her husband, Steven.

"She seemed nice," Leber said.

In addition to her husband, Shogren's survivors include three children, her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, memorials and honors program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
