Wellness Place announces new director of philanthropy

Wellness Place Cancer Resource and Support in Palatine, announced the addition of Kathy Gregg as director of philanthropy and major gifts.

Gregg, a resident of Prospect Heights, comes to Wellness Place from Northshore Senior Center in Northfield, where she was major and planned gifts officer. Gregg is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston.

“Kathy’s expertise and experience provide an intrinsic element to the future success of our organization,” said Pam Reiss, executive director of Wellness Place.

Wellness Place provides education, counseling and support free to those whose lives have been touched by cancer, including families, friends and caregivers. Funding for the organization comes from private donations, corporate sponsorships and grants.

“My goal is to reach those inspired by Wellness Place’s mission and match their willingness to help with this amazing organization,” said Gregg.

Wellness Place programs and services help individuals manage emotional and physical responses to treatment, sort through options and side effects, formulate questions for doctors, and communicate matters to family and employers. Specialized services are available for young children and teens.

The facility is located at 1619 W. Colonial Parkway in Palatine and serves the surrounding Northwest suburban Chicago area. A satellite office is located at 525 Congress Parkway, in Crystal Lake.
