Elgin police arrested Bramlett in May 2012 in connection with a drug surveillance operation, prosecutors said. Undercover officers observed a car stopped in the northbound lane of Beverly Road, north of Shoe Factory Road, and suspected a drug transaction, prosecutors said during Bramlett's bond hearing last year.

Bramlett must complete at least 50 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
