On Nov. 6, a caretaker for the home discovered the remains and called the sheriff's office.

The following day, U.S. Marshals arrested William Ross in Las Vegas, Nev., and charged him with concealment of a homicidal death. Ross owns the home where Schaefer's remains were found.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office criminal investigations division at (815) 334-4750.

Ross will appear in court again Feb. 13.
