The village of Lindenhurst is offering free wood chips to residents. Interested residents can collect an unlimited amount of wood chips from the Wesley J. Welsh public works center, 2060 Grass Lake Road. Wood chips are located west of the salt dome and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Follow the signs. Residents can visit without an appointment from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays. Weekend pickups can be arranged between 7 and 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays by calling the public works center (847) 356-1765.
