No major injuries in day care bus crash

A bus carrying five kids from school to a day care crashed into an SUV yesterday afternoon in an unincorporated area near Ingleside. One person, the bus' pregnant driver, was taken to a nearby hospital out of precaution. Full story.

Women report sex assaults in Benedictine dorm

Two women reported that they were sexually assaulted last week in a dorm room on the Benedictine University campus in Lisle. Both women -- one a Benedictine student -- were treated at a nearby hospital, and several male students have been questioned. No charges have been filed yet. Full story.

Body confirmed to be Arlington Heights man

A body found with a car last week in a deep ravine in West Chicago was confirmed yesterday to be missing Arlington Heights man Eugene Jonsson. Jonsson, 84, had recently been having bouts of memory loss before his disappearance in August. He was discovered Thursday by a landscaper working in that area. Full story.

Cook County building code inspections up 40% in a year

Annual inspections at businesses and multifamily housing complexes in unincorporated Cook County increased by 40 percent this year. Preckwinkle said the increased enforcement is an effort to upgrade the county's building inspection system and bring buildings in unincorporated Cook County up to standards set in neighboring municipalities. Trestman learns about team in Steelers victory
