The Des Plaines Garden Club's 82nd. Birthday celebration event was to the La Paloma Gardens and Sinnissippi Rose and Themed Gardens in Rockford, IL. La Paloma Gardens is designed to be a combination of unfolding outdoor spaces where visitors can stroll leisurely, and take a moment to sit and pause. The numerous resting spots provide a different "garden picture" with every turn of the path. La Paloma features formal vegetable garden, greenhouses and a stone waterfall along with a swan pond and a lotus and lily pond.
The Sinnissippi Rose and Themed Gardens were in full bloom with every imaginable color rose. These gardens are situated along the beautiful Rock River outside the Nicholas Conservatory in Rockford which is the third largest Conservatory in Illinois. Newly restored Eclipse Lagoon complete with two fountains and a waterfall, pedestrian bridge, and walkway connect to the Sinnissippi Rose Garden which is maintained by the Rockford Park District.
It was a very enjoyable day for attending garden club members.
