Farmers let public get to know alpacas

Sue and Ron Waldron started their alpaca farm 10 years ago, not knowing much about the 5-foot-tall animals that are known for the soft fleece they produce. The retired couple figured other people might want to learn about alpacas, and that’s why they began hosting semiannual open houses, including one this weekend. On Saturday, inquisitive visitors toured the 5-acre farm in Campton Hills. The open house continues today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Waldron Grove Alpaca Farm is located at 39w856 McDonald Road.
