Palatine family chosen for outdoor renovation in national backyard contest

Palatine, Ill. homeowner, Amanda Hall and family are a second prize winners of a $7,000 backyard transformation from Archadeck, Belgard Hardscapes and TimberTech. The prize was part of the national “Dream Backyard Makeover” contest sponsored by all three companies.

Hall, her husband and young child recently moved to the Chicagoland area home; however, the backyard needs some “tlc” according to Hall. Launched in February, the Dream Backyard Makeover Contest enlisted homeowners across the country to submit a photo and 200-word description of why their backyard is the most deserving of the grand prize, which was a $70,000 backyard makeover. With more than 2,000 submissions, the Hall family's was chosen as a second place winner. The grand prize winner was the Bentrott family in Huxley, Iowa.

David Berryhill, owner of Archadeck of Chicagoland, made the announcement to the Halls at the family's home and will be handling the project.
